Product Description
NETIO PowerPDU 4PV is a smart PDU (Power Distribution Unit) with four power outlets (4x IEC-320 C13). Each output can be switched on/off individually. NETIO PowerPDU 4PV can be mounted in rack cabinets – horizontally, vertically, or as a 1U device.
Open API enables integration into third-party systems using a wide range of protocols (JSON, Modbus/TCP, SNMP, MQTT, Telnet, ..).
With the NETIO Cloud service, the outputs can be controlled from anywhere. The NETIO Cloud service is provided for a fee but it uses SSL security and servers in Europe.
- LAN connection, WEB interface
- Each output can be controlled separately
- OPEN API: MQTT-flex, Modbus/TCP, Telnet, JSON, XML, SNMP, ..
- Mobile app: NETIO Mobile2 (Android)
- Service: NETIO Cloud
- Industrial features: Wide range of operating temperatures, PowerUp state, ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching)
A smart PDU with LAN connectivity, PowerPDU 4PV is designed for professional use.
- Wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +65°C in the entire current range
- PowerUp state – the state of the outputs after the device is powered up is configurable (On/Off/Last)
- Simple installation into a 10” or 19” cabinet as a 1U device or vertically at a side
- ZVS – for switching an appliance on and off more frequently than a few times a day, ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) support becomes important in the long term. ZVS makes sure that the output relay switches when the immediate voltage is zero.
- IOC function (Independent Output Control) – states of outputs are not affected by LAN connection failures, network layer restarts, or firmware upgrades
- The Scheduler function - time based switching
ZVS reduces the stress on the appliances connected to the outputs and prolongs their lifetime. It is particularly suitable for electrical appliances with a high inrush current. A high inrush current is typical for switching power supplies common in IT as well as in LED lighting and other application areas.
Typical Applications
- Remote restart (over the Web)
- Energy savings
- Switching power outputs on and off with a mobile app
- Switching sockets on and off using the NETIO Cloud service
- Controlling electrical sockets with a driver from multimedia applications (Neets, Crestron, Control4, CUE)
- Open API connection to open systems (Node-RED, Mikrotik, StreamPipes, HMS, ..)
- Open API MQTT cloud connection to portal applications (DevicePilot, AWS, IBM Bluemix, MS Azure)
Open API (protocols) (M2M)
- For Open API communication, one M2M protocol can be chosen from among the following:
- Modbus/TCP
- MQTT-flex
- Telnet
- URL API (http get)
- JSON over HTTP
- XML over HTTP
- SNMP v1
- SNMP v3
- HTTP(s) Push JSON
- HTTP(s) Push XML
The SNMP protocol can be always used in parallel to other APIs.
Documentation for the protocols is available at the NETIO website. The ANxx Application Notes provide useful deployment guidance.
Regardless of the one Open API protocol used, the PowerPDU 4PV can be always controlled from its web interface and from the NETIO Cloud service at the same time.
AV Drivers

Zero Voltage Switching
ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) support is important for switching devices more than several times a day. ZVS ensures switching on and off of the switching relay when the voltage passes through zero.
ZVS reduces the stress on the connected electrical appliances, increasing the lifetime in case of frequent switching of appliances with a high inrush voltage. High inrush voltage is typical for switching supplies common in IT equipment.
